Adventure with a purpose!

How can I help my family gain a deeper understanding of the universal flood?

Are you looking for a tour that will help you understand the Grand Canyon in light of your faith? Our Creation-focused tours are designed by Russ Barlow, an author and Director of TruthSeekers Foundation. With science that is supported by scripture, we provide an affirming experience that will deepen your testimony.

One of the common pain points associated with creation-focused families is that it can be difficult to find resources that help us understand modern geology. Finding a tour that will help us understand the Grand Canyon can also be difficult. That’s why we created TruthSeekers Adventures. Our Creation-focused tours are designed by Russ Barlow, an author, and Director of TruthSeekers Foundation. With science-backed by scripture, we provide an affirming experience that will deepen your testimony.

TruthSeekers Adventures is one of the best in the business for providing LDS tourists with amazing experiences at some of the most beautiful locations in the world. The Grand Canyon UM Geotour is one of their most popular destinations, and with good reason. The natural beauty and scale of the canyon are awe-inspiring, and there are plenty of activities and adventures to be had there while learning of God’s creation and the Universal Flood. Whether you’re a thrill seeker looking for a white-water rafting trip or a nature lover who wants to take in the views on a hike, this tour can provide the perfect Grand Canyon experience for you.

There are many reasons why the Grand Canyon is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The canyon’s stunning natural beauty and scale are awe-inspiring, and there are plenty of activities and adventures to be had there. But for many people of faith, the main attraction of the Grand Canyon is its connection to biblical history.

Meet Your expert guides

Russ Barlow

Russ Barlow, Director of TruthSeekers Adventures, author and editor of many books, including the Universal Model, and other Church history books is the lead guide for all TruthSeekers adventure tours.

Dean Sessions

Dean W. Sessions is the author of the Universal Model (UM) and the founder of the Millennial Science Foundation. Dean and his wife, Danette, are the parents of five children and ten grandchildren.

If you are a homeschooling family that is CREATION focused, the Grand Canyon tour is perfect for you. The tour offers a variety of activities that will help you learn more about the natural wonders of the Grand Canyon. You’ll have the opportunity to explore this iconic landmark’s history and geology and see it up close in all its glory.

Fossil hunting can be a fun and rewarding activity for our young visitors on many of our tours. On the Grand Canyon National Park tour, one of our stops gives us a chance to search for trilobite fossils (this is outside the park). Rather than simply looking at the canyon layers from a distance, participants can explore its depths without the grueling 9.5-mile hike as they learn about how the Canyon’s layers were created. There is something for everyone at Grand Canyon National Park, and fossil hunting before we get there is just one more way to enjoy this amazing natural wonder.

“I have been on more than a hundred tours and I want you to know, Russ, the Grand Canyon tour was the very best tour I have been on in my entire life!”

See the

Petrified Forest

The Petrified forest is a one of kind fossil trove. It got its name from the discovery of petrified wood in 1883 by Albert Koch, who misinterpreted the silicified tree stumps as having been turned to stone. This state park covers an area that was once part of the Universal Flood.

Visit the

The Arizona Crater

The great Arizona Crater (Meteor Crater) is one of the most studied craters in the world. It has a long and colorful history, including a whole new way to see and understand it through the lens of the Universal Model. Nearly 1 million people visit each year, drawn by the opportunity to see this natural wonder. The crater is over 1 mile deep and nearly a mile across, and still has the remains of the drilling equipment at the bottom. Come see where the astronauts trained to walk on the Moon at this must-see destination for anyone interested in the UM and true science.

“TruthSeekers tours really helped me to appreciate the reality of the Creation and the evidences of a Universal Flood. Standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon on one tour, and then searching for several-thousand-year-old shark teeth in the Carolinas on another helped me comprehend the magnificent beauty of the earth, and the wisdom of the Creator! Russ Barlow & Dean Sessions did a fantastic job bringing these things to life on our tour!”

Itinerary

Typical of our TruthSeekers Adventures tours, we have an incredible experience to share with you. Sometimes we have to adjust for various reasons, but this is the general plan for our UM GeoTour Grand Canyon (2024) tour.

Day 1:

The Great Unconformity, & Garnet Hill

Come ready to learn! We’ll have a quick snack as we ready for our departure. We begin by visiting pre-Flood rock at the place where Flood rocks begin, followed by a hike over Garnet Hill. After spending some time digging for trilobites, we head toward Lake Mead to learn about Desert Varnish and natural concrete (caliche). After a crisp and healthy lunch, we’ll head to the Techatticup Gold mine for a step back in time to the heyday of gold and silver. We’ll overnight in Tusayan just outside the Grand Canyon.

Day 2:

Mather Point, Tanner's Crossing Bridge, & Sunset Crater

This day starts early, well before the Sun comes up! We’ll head to Mather Point along the beautiful South Rim of the Grand Canyon to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the canyon. This is always an incredible moment as the Canyon comes into view as the shadows depart the deep ravines! After a morning of discovery, we’ll have authentic Navajo Tacos at the Trading Post at Tanner’s Crossing before heading to the historic Sunset Crater Volcano. Along the way we’ll also visit the ruins of the Anasazi people who lived there long ago. Depending on weather, we sometimes have an opportunity to view the night sky through a telescope after checking into our Flagstaff hotel!

Day 3:

Arizona Crater

Today we head to Walnut Canyon to walk along Kaibab Limestone paths trod by ancient cliff-dwellers, then on to the incredible Arizona Crater, the most studied crater in the world! We will walk the rim, examining the Coconino Sandstone as well as the local Moenkopi rocks, and especially, the pure-white silica that originated deep inside the Earth. Our last night will be in Holbrook, a place where you can browse endless rows of petrified wood and other treasures for sale.

Day 4:

Petrified Forest

Petrified Forest is the capstone of this knowledge-packed tour. Morning will have us walking among the giants, trees hundreds of feet in length scattered across the landscape. By mid-day, we’ll visit Newspaper Rock and their famous petroglyphs before heading home. Hopefully you’ll by filled with the awesomeness of God’s Creation, tired perhaps, but oh so excited!

After experiencing the Grand Canyon tour, your family will have a better understanding of the natural wonders of the Grand Canyon. You’ll also come away with a new appreciation for the history and geology of this amazing place. The tour is an excellent way to learn about the UNIVERSAL FLOOD and its true CREATION and create lasting memories with your family.

Don’t wait any longer! Reserve the Grand Canyon Tour today and see this natural wonder up close. You won’t regret it!
